What is Occupational Health and Safety Policy & How we can prepare OHS Policy
Occupational Health & Safety statement is a general
overview of the employer or organization. In the policy, statement
organizations provide an overview of how they management OHS in there day to
day business. OHS policy statement must be signed by the top person in the
organization like the director or GM.
OHS policy must be communicated to all employees, customers,
shareholders & other stakeholders. OHS policy must be pasted on the notice
board and translated into multiple languages as per the people's
involvement/engagement. OHS policy must be available on the company web site
(if any). Communication is key for OHS.
In the Occupational Health & Safety policy statement
organization articulate their objectives and targets related to Occupational
Health and Safety.
During the preparation of OHS policy following elements as a
minimum need to be considered.

to the policy statement about providing a healthy and safe work environment to
the employees.

to the policy statement about legal requirements, the organization will follow
all applicable legal requirement

to the policy statement about responsibilities, Organization will make the the employee responsible for occupational health and safety.
Ø
Management or organization show their commitment
to the policy statement about accountabilities, Organization will make
employees accountable for occupational health and safety.
Ø
Management or organization show their commitment
to the policy statement about reviewing the OHS performance. The organization
will review their OHS performance.

to the policy statement about continuous improvement in the OHS performance
